BMC Provides Access to Popular Up-To-Date Software

The Boston Medical Center Information Services Department recently subscribed to Up-To-Date, a popular clinical reference program designed to provide busy clinicians with the most current information. Up-To-Date is comprised of thousands of original topic reviews written by a recognized faculty of experts who each address a specific clinical issue and provide detailed recommendations based on major trials or expert opinion. References and content are derrived from current biomedical textbooks and journals, with MEDLINE abstracts for the journal literature.

The UpToDate collection includes the following topic areas:

Up-To-Date incorporates graphics into each topic area, illustrating important data and major study results with graphics and illustrations. Also included are tables, radiographs, histologic pictures, ECGs, echocardiograms, angiograms, and heart sounds. The program also features unlimited Category I CME credits from the American Medical Association for every hour spent using Up-To-Date.

Up-To-Date is available to eligible users on the Boston Medical Center Intranet. Faculty, staff, and students of the schools of Medicine, Dental Medicine, and Public Health can use Up-To-Date from terminals in the Alumni Medical Library LRC Computing Lab.
